Per essere assorbiti dall&rsquo;intestino i <strong>disaccaridi </strong>ed i <strong>polisaccaridi </strong>richiedono la scissione fino a monosaccaridi.</p>
<p><strong>I glicidi</strong> sono la principale fonte di energia e, nell&rsquo;organismo (muscoli e fegato), si ritrovano immagazzinati sotto forma di glicogeno (associazione di pi&ugrave; molecole di glucosio). Nelle cellule e nel sangue si compongono come glucosio.</p>
<p>Forniscono 4,0 Calorie per grammo ingerito.</p>
<p>Nella dieta devono essere presenti in ragione del 55-60% del totale. Inoltre la quota giornaliera di glicidi deve essere apportata per l&rsquo;80% da quelli complessi e per il 20% da quelli semplici.</p>
